proAcción
proAcción is a web application that aims to centralize and facilitate information on civic participation initiatives throughout Puerto Rico. Through this mobile App, we strive to promote the public’s education and insertion in the social issues and causes they care about.
How does proAcción work?

It seeks to increase civic participation by facilitating access to information about organizations and social causes.
How does it work?
1) Enter the application
2) Select the social issue you care about (or your location)
3) Choose between educational content or civic engagement opportunities about the issue
4) Register so you can save events and content that interests you
5) Join efforts and participate!

It seeks to promote and improve the scope of organizations’ initiatives to increase public participation in Puerto Rico’s important social issues.

How did proAcción start?
Virtual Hackathon
We sponsored a virtual competition to develop the concept of proAcción. The winners generated solutions to create and design the web application and identified collaborators to help us develop it.
Focus Groups
We conducted focus groups and surveys with non-profit organizations and citizens to collect ideas and recommendations that informed the design and development of proAcción.
